EXTERIOR ROOFING AND CLADDING STARTS ON MODULES

With most of the exterior sheathing installed on the modules, the Hamelmann Communications construction team started the exterior cladding this week.

There were several factors that influenced the selection of the cladding materials – first of course was wind-load. We needed claddings that could withstand the 180MPH wind rating prescribed by the USAP Building Code. The second factor was weight. Depending on the gauge of metal, steel claddings can be over three times heavier than aluminum cladding. And weigh on these mobile modules is definitely a factor. The final selection for the wall cladding was an aluminum interlocking diamond shingle by Future Roof. The Future roof line of products is connected to Interlock Roofing and their Aluminum Standing Seam roofing. This made coordination of the flashings and details easier to coordinate with the two products.
